Thank you for visiting my donations page!

Dear Family and our Friends, our Market Street staff, our Neighbors, our Extended Neighbors, our New Friends, our Church Family, our School Family:

There might not be any more words or thoughts, feelings, hugs that we can express that haven’t already been expressed to each and every one of you. And sometimes a plain old thank you says it all

From the very beginning, many of you wanted to help, telling us to “just take care of your daughter and we will take care of anything and everything else”. How do families do it? Trying to be there for your child; trying to be there for each other; trying to keep your job or business running; trying to take care of your family. But you enabled us to devote all of our time to Brooke. We Thank You so Very, Very Much.

We could not imagine then this wonderful outpouring of love you have given Brooke. The fund-raising efforts for Brooke have been one incredible effort after another.

The success of those fund-raising affairs has created other challenges. The financial gifts have been overwhelming. It became immediately apparent that we needed to get some professional advice on how best to deal with the gifts that have been raised through these fund-raising events. Because it takes time to create a charitable organization or a foundation, we needed some temporary solutions to solve the immediate concerns. And at the same time, thoughts for a longer range plan and vision as a more permanent solution, not only for Brooke but for others as well.

We think It is important for everyone to understand clearly how your financial gifts are being handled. We want to reduce any confusion, any concerns, any questions.

Presently, there are two ways you can make financial gifts for the benefit of Brooke. Tax-deductible gifts can be made through the United Way. You only have to designate the gift to the “Brooke Mulford Fund”. We thank the United Way for their assistance, their time and efforts. Businesses in particular, and individuals that want their gift to be tax-deductible will want to make their gifts to the United Way.

All other financial gifts are placed in the Brooke Mulford Medical Trust Account at the Bank of Delmarva. This is not a tax-deductible gift in that it is not an IRS-approved charitable organization. It is a Trust Account with four (4) trustees; two bankers, an attorney and an accountant. This account will be used, as necessary, for any of Brooke’s medical or medical-related expenses. Any disbursement from the Trust Account must be approved by the Trustees. And any of the trustees will be happy to answer any of your questions you might have.

We are so very grateful for your generosity and kindnesses expressed to our family.

Salisbury's four-year-old Brooke Mulford has recently and very suddenly been diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma, an aggressive children's cancer. Her treatment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is not only intense, but very expensive. To make a donation to the "United Way Brooke Mulford Fund" which will help offset the tremendous costs of Brooke's treatment and recovery, you must select Brooke Mulford Fund in the Donation Category drop down menu.
